Vocational Skills is a flexible and supportive programme designed to prepare students for independent and fulfilling adult lives. The AQA Unit Award Scheme develops essential life skills, communication abilities and practical competencies focused on Preparation for Adulthood Outcomes including employment readiness, independent living and community participation. Students gain valuable personal development skills such as communication, social interaction, problem solving, practical life skills and confidence that support their transition to independent adult living.
Past students have successfully moved on to various pathways including supported employment, work experience placements, day services, community activities, independent or supported living arrangements, voluntary work and social opportunities that enable them to participate meaningfully in their communities and lead fulfilling lives.
