Geography

Our course allows students to build naturally on the knowledge gained through their GCSE, but it will also enrich their understanding of the changing world of the 21st century both on a local and global scale by keeping up to date with current geographical events.

This course will help you develop transferable skills such as essay writing and also flexible thinking, as well as provide you with field work experience through a residential week in the Lake District.

Geography is a diverse and relevant subject that is highly valued by employers and universities across numerous sectors. Studying the subject develops essential spatial awareness, environmental understanding and analytical skills required for careers in planning, environmental management and geographical research. You will also gain valuable transferable skills such as data analysis, fieldwork methodology, critical thinking, problem solving and map interpretation that are highly sought after across a wide range of degree programmes beyond geography.
